Welcome to Mark Harrell Horse Shows! 

There is no “I” in team & there is no “I” in Mark Harrell Horse Shows. When an organization or association hires Mark Harrell Horse Shows, we come in as a collective group & with each person knowing their responsibilities. We all work together to make each and every show as perfect as possible & make sure we are prepared in advance. Whether the show is a smaller two day show or a longer 4-5 day circuit, each show receives the same preparation & dedication.  The team routinely manages over 120,000 AQHA entries each year & is currently running shows throughout the United States.

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce the team members involved with Mark Harrell Horse Shows.

Kathy Avolt of Lafayette, IN purchased the company January 1, 2017. For the new year, our exhibitors will see very little changes as all staff members will remain in place. She serves as the announcer for most of our shows. She has more than 15 years of competitive speech in her background & previously served as the editor of a state Quarter Horse association’s magazine and web site.  She understands the running of shows, having been both an exhibitor and show manager, having managed her first Quarter Horse show at the age of 16 for local 4-H club. Kathy is also the point of contact for the Facebook page. She designs the showbills, tab sheets, handles the promotion for the shows & also follows up with the posting of results & a show review. During the show, Kathy is also responsible for figuring the circuit awards for each class. Back at home, Kathy does freelance advertising & logo design, specializing in the real estate industry.  In her free time, she landscapes & hard-scapes for 'therapy' !(Photo courtesy Studio 19 Photography.)
   

Mark Harrell, has been involved with horses since his early childhood.  He managed his first horse show in 1982 and to this day is still managing it.  Having been a seasoned horse show exhibitor, Mark has a different perception of what it takes to run a show.  He is a multiple PHBA and IBHA World Champion trainer & exhibitor.  Mark’s position at the shows is as show manager. His duties vary but he is commonly known as the man with the raffle tickets & resulting prizes. Nowadays, he is actively involved in the marketing of horses via Mark Harrell Equine Marketing. If you need to buy or sell a horse, he is the go-to person! Check out his Facebook page for the most current inventory or fantastic horses for sale.

David Pardue
has been working the horse shows since 1998. However, David’s forte is the hospitality end of the shows. If hospitality is part of the show contract, David can plan, organize & throw the most elaborate, fun & fan-friendly parties ever seen at a show. David, Mark’s partner, previously worked in the retail industry & knows that it is the little things that exhibitors appreciate the most. David is a past multi-million dollar real estate producer. Both he & Mark have put their licenses into referral. Along with Mark, David is actively involved with the local school. Mark & David will celebrate 20 years together in June 2017.

Michael David joined Mark Harrell Horse Shows in April of 2008. This lucky little boy was adopted by Mark & David & is named after Mark's brother & David's father. Mikey is a well-traveled little boy who loves everything - especially microphones, Star Wars, Harry Potter & anything with wheels. He will celebrate his NINTH birthday on April 24, 2017.

 
Julie Pardue of Cocoa Beach, FL joined MHHS in 2006 and is well-versed on the show management end of everything. If the last name looks familiar it should! Julie is David Pardue's mother! Julie has more than 25 years of management & accounting experience, working for a number of large companies. Born in England, Julie was a military brat & later married a member of the Air Force. She has resided in 8 different states and 5 different countries.  She resides with her husband and cat - James Bond. 

Peggy Gander has been with Mark Harrell Horse Shows for more than 8 years and though originally from Iowa, now calls Rockwall, TX home along with her husband Steve and their dog Lucy and 2 horses - Lester & Termite.  Peggy has always had horses and has shown Barrel Racing for many years and has been successful in the Team Roping as well.  In fact, she was the Rookie Of The Year for the WPRA in the Great Lakes Circuit. Peggy is an accomplished photographer and shoots many of the top rodeo and barrel racing events throughout the country.  You can see examples of her work at her website www.cowboyimages.net. Christian Jauntig, of New City, NY will start to be seen more with the company in 2017 and beyond. He has been working horse shows since he was 11 years old. He started as a Ring Steward volunteer for his local committee and very quickly moved up to announcer, then Show Manager and Secretary. When not at the horse shows, he can be found in his office assisting clients with their Personal, Business and even some Equine Insurance policies. He is a licensed Insurance agent in the state of NY and the agency does business in multiple states. He lives with his family in NY and NJ, along with his German Shepherd dog, Simon.
